Astrology

What is Astrology?

Astrology is the study of how the movements of the planets and asteroids of the solar system correlate to and correspond with events and people on Earth. As the Earth and planets are orbiting the sun, it is the study of repeating cycles, and how these cycles interact. Each planet corresponds to a fundamental driving force or archetype and the angular relationships between and placements of the planets give information about how these archetypal forces will be manifesting. It is a common misconception that astrologers believe that the planets are causing our personalities and behavior. Rather it is as if the planets are the many hands of a complex clock that give a readout of the collective and archetypal forces active on and acting through us at any particular time.

What is Astrology used for?

Astrology is a very powerful for gaining insight into people's characters, and thus the sorts of things that happen to us, our 'fates'. By drawing a map of the sky for the particular place and time a person is born we can see how the archetypal forces relate within and manifest through them. Similarly, we can gain great insight into how and why two people are relating the way they are based on the way the archetypes in their charts interact.

Astrology can also be used to get a sense of what is happening archetypally at any particular time or place, where we are in any given cycle. Thus it can be used for insight into what is happening in our lives, as well as choosing the most favorable time for any particular activity.
