Tai Chi Tuition
There are four main areas of teaching:
1. Chi Kung, or Breathwork.
This involves simple repetitive movements that coincide with the breath.
2. Form, or The Dance.
This is the long sequence of movements and postures usually done slowly that is the 'catalogue of the martial applications.
3. Application.
This is done with a partner. One person throws a kick or a punch at the other who has to defend using an application of one of the postures from the form.
4. Pushing or Sensing Hands.
This is a form a partner work where the opponents play at unbalancing each other whilst the hands or bodies remain in contact.
I also use walking, punching and kicking drills done both fast and slowly.
We can work on whatever aspect and aspects of Tai Chi Chuan that are appropriate to your needs.
I prefer to meet outdoors as there is more space to move, but if it is raining or cold we can work at my house where I have an empty room.
